[Work in progress] Based on an unpublished extract from an unfinished alphabet by Paul Renner, this project explores and blurs the boundary between original and copy, or homage and forgery. Using this fragment as a basis, I set out to copy, conserve, reinterpret and reinvent, all at once. This work questions authorship, authenticity and the role of interpretation in contemporary typographic design. In this project, I imagined myself as Paul Renner’s gravedigger, adding another typeface family to his work.
